Slate Dust and Cold Wax Painting Medium
|
Slate Dust Our Slate Dust is from mines in the UK and is clean and fine grain. Slate Dust can be used like Marble Dust and added to Cold Wax Painting Medium and Gesso's and primers. It gives a slight grey colour to the mix and is a little finer than the Marble Dust |
The Cold Wax Painting Medium is stiffened by adding Slate Dust, it makes it harder to spread and it has a 'drying effect' on the oil/wax mixture. To add a wax/sand mixture to a painting I would suggest the painting be on a rigid surface and that a palette or painting knife or similar is used to apply. Doing test pieces would be good before embarking on a large work. Good for extra texture. |
