Join Jacqui Blackman, the creator of the Zest-it Cold Wax Painting Medium, for a one day Cold Wax Workshop suitable for those new to Cold Wax and Oil painting.

You will be working with Cold Wax and Oil paint on paper, with additions of pigments, particulates and drizzles. Using brushes and painting knives as the main tools for expression, also experimenting with other mark making elements.

Working with Cold Wax and Oil Paint is a joy!
I taught oil painting workshops for many years from Tole and Decorative, to Landscape to Flowers - always with Oil paint.

To now have the Cold Wax Painting Medium to mix with the Oils, which gives texture, depth and translucency, it allows this forgiving medium to have even more versatility. The added bonus, the wax causes the oil paint to dry faster, imparts excellent qualities and without the 'rules' of oil painting - its a very freeing and exciting way to paint.

Painting with Cold Wax and Oils is about 'letting go', its about new techniques and skills that apply to wax, its about your creativity being expressed through a different media. 

Its a journey about learning to work with your intuitive part, about allowing yourself to be free and to let go of preconceived ideas along the way, which it not always easy, but nothing worthwhile is, is it?
So, it may be challenging, but fun, to paint whatever picture you wish to see!

The workshop will be held in part of our warehouse unit in Barwell - no not in a draughty space with the boxes, but in a practical studio room.
Tea, coffee, water, biscuits and 'nibbles' will be available all day but please bring your own Lunch (cold or microwaveable).
 

The workshop will run from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm,  I will supply the Cold Wax, Wax Solvent, Paper and you will have the use of tools, pigments, particulate and embellishments.

Although the workshop if on the ground floor, the toilet and kitchen are on the first floor so you do need to be able to climb stairs.

I'm an HND Draughtswoman; an Accredited Art Instructor and Demonstrator, also a Chemical Technician. 
I taught Oil paining for many years, both as workshops/groups and individuals.
We have received requests for help with Cold Wax and what tools to use, this workshop not only explores the medium but also what traditional tools that can be used.
